🧡💙 Grandparents Day Update 💙🧡
We are so excited for Grandparents Day and have been overwhelmed by the response—we currently have approximately 550 grandparents and special guests RSVP’d!
Unfortunately, after reviewing our classroom and building capacity, we simply cannot safely accommodate that many visitors. We sincerely apologize that we did not establish a guest limit when RSVPs were originally sent. We have never had this many guests RSVP before!
We are asking families to please limit attendance to no more than TWO grandparents/special guests per student. We know this is a change after families have already made plans, and we are truly sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause.
You only need to contact the school if this change will also result in a change to your child’s transportation plans for Tuesday. There is no need to submit an updated RSVP.
We have definitely learned from this year’s amazing turnout, and next year, a guest limit will be clearly communicated from the beginning.
Thank you for your understanding, flexibility, and grace as we work to make Tuesday a safe and special day for our students and their guests! 🧡💙

This national recognition highlights schools where students are beating the odds and demonstrating strong achievement in literacy—and our Eastland Cougars are among them! 📚🐾
We are incredibly proud of our students and the hard work they put into learning and growing each day. This recognition also belongs to the amazing teachers and staff who support, challenge, and believe in our students—and to YOU, our families, for the learning, encouragement, reading, and support that continues at home.
Great things happen when school and home work together for kids, and this is a pretty exciting example of what that partnership can accomplish. 💙🧡

We made it through our first three days of school, and what an amazing start it has been! It has been so much fun welcoming our students back into the building, seeing familiar faces, meeting new ones, and watching everyone begin to settle into their classrooms and routines.

A form was inadvertently omitted from this year’s online registration process: the Student Health Form. We ask all parents to log in to Skyward and complete the form for each of their children. Even if your child has no health concerns, please complete the form and select the “None” boxes.

Back to School Night!
We are welcoming another new staff member to the Eastland family. Please give a warm welcome to Raquel Thibodeau. She will be teaching 2nd grade at EES.
Rural bus stop times are now available for the 2026-2027 school year. These are accessible within your students Skyward account under "Portfolio" then "Attachments". If you have more than one student, it will be listed under your oldest students account. Please call the Transportation Department with any questions/changes at 815-493-6410.

Attention Parents/Guardians of Eastland Students Attending the Whiteside Area Career Center (WACC):
Due to the difference in the start dates between the Whiteside Area Career Center (WACC) and the Eastland School District, Eastland students attending WACC will begin classes on Monday, August 17, rather than Wednesday, August 19.
The WACC bus schedule is as follows:
DepartureTime:
Shannon: 7:00 a.m.
Lanark: 7:15 a.m.
Return Time (Students may leave campus once the WACC bus returns.):
Lanark: approximately 10:20 a.m.
Shannon: approximately 10:35 a.m.
These pickup times will remain the same throughout the year.
