Congratulations to all of our Spelling Bee contestants. Each contestant was one of the top spellers in his/her grade level. The district winners were Isla H., Alternate - Emma M., 2nd Place - and Joseph P., Champion. The top two spellers will move on to the Regional Spelling Bee held at Highland Community College on February 10th at 7:00 PM.

EASTLAND HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCES ILLINOIS STATE SCHOLARS
Eastland High School is pleased to recognize four outstanding seniors who were named State Scholars from the 2026 class. Eastland’s State Scholars include Shelby Groezinger – daughter of Rich and Amy Groezinger, Parker Krogman – son of Pat and Becky Krogman, Kaleb LaRue - son of Ben and Kim Summers, and Breanna Sweitzer - daughter of Lori and Chris Sweitzer. Illinois State Scholars are among the best and brightest in our state’s high schools based on test scores and class rank.

This year our 3rd graders are testing out how to be Kindhearted Kids with a new program with help from @twobytwoedu. Over ten weeks students become a pet parent while learning about kindness, responsibility, respect, empathy, and citizenship. We are so excited for this adventure! 💙🐾





The State of Illinois celebrates Family Reading Night on November 20th each year. Students in grades K-6 will be bringing home a copy of this flyer along with an activity page focused on careers. If you would like to participate, activity pages are due back to the EES Library by Tuesday, November 24th.
