If you have not as of yet completed the online registration for your students, we ask that you please complete this at your earliest convenience.
To register your student(s) online in July, please complete the following steps:
Go to www.eastland308.com and click on the Skyward shortcut on the upper right-hand side of the screen.
Log into Family Access (Skyward) using your assigned Skyward login and password (if you need help with resetting a password, please contact the office).
On the left-hand bar click “Online Registration.”
Choose 1 student at a time and follow the procedure for registration making sure you click the “Complete Step #_ and move to Step # _” before moving onto the next step. Once you have finished all steps please click the “Complete Registration” button. You will receive an email confirmation when the process is complete. Please repeat this process for each of your students.
You will be given an option to pay for registration fees, as well as EJSHS PE Uniforms and Orange Crush shirts, as part of the process online. Be sure to click on the link to the registration payment option that will be at the bottom of the registration screen. If you prefer to pay via check/cash, you should take or mail to the district office at 601 S Chestnut St, Shannon, IL 61078 by July 26, 2024.
Once completed you may exit out of Skyward. This will complete the online portion of the registration process.
Thank you for your cooperation with online registration. If you have problems and need assistance, you will need to call the office(s) listed below to reset Skyward passwords &/or set-up an appointment to come to the school for in-person assistance to be held at EES on July 31st from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM.
If you are in need of assistance with the online registration process, there will be help available from 10 AM - 6 PM on Wednesday, July 31st at the Eastland Elementary Cafeteria in Shannon.
Join us this Friday, July 26th, at 5:30 PM in the Board Room in Shannon, to hear about the state of the schools. The state of the schools presentation will highlight the past year and looking to the year ahead. We look forward to seeing you there.

Because of the continued power outage in Lanark, the Driver's Education classes will be held at EES in Shannon in the Board Room for the remainder of the week. Please enter through the district office door.
Due to a power outage at the school, Driver's Education has been cancelled for today.
Fall Sports/Activities Parent Meeting
On Monday, July 29th at 6:30pm there will be a mandatory parent meeting in the EJSHS new gym. Please remember to have a sports physical completed and turned into the office before the practice begins. Sports registration will be done on-line. If you have any questions please contact the EJSHS Office.
If your son or daughter is competing in the activities listed below, you need to make sure you attend this meeting.

The Eastland PTO would like to thank Erin Lower for making Eastland Elementary come to life with her creative and exquisite paintings. The Eastland PTO voted yes to support Erin in sharing her gift with the Eastland Elementary students and staff by providing her funding for paint supplies. Preschool Teacher
I received my bachelors in Early Childhood Education with a Special Ed Letter of Approval from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. Prior to getting my bachelors, I had been a paraprofessional since 2013. Seven of those years, I had been a paraprofessional at Eastland.
My husband and I have three beautiful daughters who have all attended Eastland Schools. Two who have graduated from Eastland. We enjoy family time, watching our girls play sports, vacationing, swimming, and being outside.
Accelerated Reader is back up and running and students may once again take AR Quizzes.

Kindergarten teacher
I graduated in May from ISU with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been working in early childhood for over 20 years including paraprofessional work for Eastland, former owner and preschool teacher of Little Sprouts Daycare and Preschool, and was recently the preschool teacher at Eastland. It’s been a dream of mine to be an elementary teacher since 2nd grade and I’m beyond excited it’s finally becoming a reality!
I moved to Lanark 15 years ago when I married my husband, Dan and we have 2 children Ty, 10 and Josie, 9. I enjoy reading, walking, and spending time with family and friends.
Accelerated Reader is currently down. They have made a change on their platform and are having issues with logins. We do not currently have an ETA for a fix, but we will post again once we have been told all is working. Until then, students will not be able to take AR Quizzes.
Mrs. Bethany Murphy
1st Grade Teacher
I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University and my master’s degree in Special Education from Concordia University Chicago. I have been teaching for 6 years. I spent my first 4 years of my teaching career in first grade. The last 2 years I was a self-contained special education teacher for kindergarten-2nd grade students.
I am from Orangeville, Illinois. I now live just outside of Shannon on a farm with my husband and dog. We welcomed a healthy baby boy into our lives at the beginning of June. I am loving all the baby snuggles and enjoy spending time with family and farm life.
High School students who would like to discuss a schedule change should make an appointment to meet with Mrs. Pilgrim before school begins.
