Thirty-four Eastland seniors were honored at the 25th Annual Senior Awards and Scholarship Night on
May 13th . Local businesses and organizations, memorial funds, colleges, and individuals donated
over $95,000 in scholarships. Departmental awards of excellence, as well as numerous other
awards, were also presented. A successful event such as this would not be possible without the
tremendous support of area businesses and individuals.

We want to notify the public of a fire alarm that occurred at approximately 12:22 pm at Eastland Junior High School. The fire alarm was false and stemmed from a test of the greenhouse fire alarm system. There was no emergency and all students and staff were safe throughout the brief interruption and were outside for less than five minutes.
We apologize for any confusion this may have caused and appreciate everyone's quick and calm response. Safety remains our top priority, and we thank you for your understanding.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.
